here's three things I learned today:

1) my middle and distal phalanges on my last toes are congenitally fused 2) it is possible for one to drive manual transmission with a fractured fifth metatarsal 3) I have a fractured fifth metatarsal. hurrah.

[edit] also: it is possible, though entirely inadvisable, for one to drive manual transmission with a foot in a cast.
